─ Legat 1903
More than 100 years of tradition
More than a hundred years ago, the slopes of the Mountain Venčac were covered with vineyards. Back in 1903, in the very heart of the Šumadija region, in Banja near Arandjelovac, the “Venčac Cooperative” was founded, which became synonymous with the beginning of winemaking and viticulture in Serbia.
The Venčac Winemaking Cooperative was reputed to be unique and one of the best wineries of the time in the Balkans. An interesting historical fact shows that King Petar I Karađorđević was welcomed to the winery as a member, and later his son, Aleksandar I Karađorđević, became a member.
